Many would have us believe that paedophilia has always been with us so why hasn't it become much more normal by now? Perhaps because it was probably seen as abnormal by those particular societies just as at present so why see any further likelihood of change?

The problems I see with any possibility of change occurring is the general "baggage" surrounding paedophilia so that unless "decoupled" it will follow and dominate any debate that might be attempted. The baggage consisting of such things as all forms of sexual abuse perpetrated towards children whether by paedophiles or others and the exploitation of children in child-modelling, child pornography and prostitution. It seems that many are willing to take a free ride on this particular train regardless of where it will take them. A bit like that Back To The Future film hoping that the bridge will be there when they arrive at the canyon when most likely it will not and we then do know what will happen.
