If you have to make a "victim" feel abused because they aren't feeling so, then it means they were not abused.

So, if they are exhibiting psychological problems or emotional problems for which they might have no clue as to where they might have originated this is not important and could not be related to past abuse? It seems forums are littered with comments from such people and it would take a very bold stance to negate their feelings and problems to say this would never come from repressed memories or feelings. No expert here and I find it difficult to understand these cases but I am sure they do exist. The evidence from multiple personality disorders shows how dissociation can affect people markedly to suppress memories. I was very fortunate, did not suffer any general abuse as a child and had a loving mother but for some all they had was neglect, abuse and even hatred from their supposed carers.
