Actually, what was in question was the brain's ability to create "fake" memories, not to retain "authentic" ones.

But thanks. Will keep an eye on this one. I happen to remember dates relatively well, but usually because I contextualize them in ways that make them impossible to miss. I certainly don't remember every event.
