What he said (and I would support him on this even if I accepted that KP is everywhere except in my visual field) is that it's a highly screwed sense of priorities if he got uncomfortable from KP and not from images of violence, torture and death. And imho, this would be true regardless of the existence, quantity or character of KP.

Screwed (skewed?) sense of priorities? Why do we have to put one above another? This argument seems to come into your realm of fallacious reasoning.
