This is why I can see a day coming where creators of intellectual property produce and sell the material themselves rather than using a go-between like a big company, with the bulk of the monies made going to them and their editors, i.e., the ones who actually did the work. Advancing communications and information-exchanging technology is making this both increasingly feasible and increasingly desirable to the artists. Eliminating the big corporations here eliminates a huge part of the "need" to overcharge consumers of the product, and thus conduct unethical practices that encourage piracy.
