Yes, the "industry" part of the music industry keeps changing without apparently lessening the quantity of music.

It is tough when the paying jobs shift in their nature. Back before recordings the traveling sheet music demonstrator had a regular paying gig and the "session musician" didn't exist.

Right now, ripped-music has put an emphasis back on touring and performing; which is tough on those who prefer the recording studio to the stage and the road.

I predict a return to Vaudeville ;p
