I have typed this message 3 times and deleted it. I do not know how to say it so I am just going to type it as simply as I can, not for pity, but so you understand.

I have a partner, I love her very much. She used to be polyamorous, she has encouraged and near insisted I find a second partner to keep me company, and happy, because.. she is dying. We do not know how long she has left, her body is shutting down. It shouldn't be sudden, or very near, but.. we can't be sure.

She knows everything about me and loves me for who I am and only wants me to be happy, but, my life is and forever will be punctuated by pain. Pain is part of my life, to be happy, I must embrace it as well.

Thus, I cannot afford to make mistakes, I cannot let anything impede my ability to be able to care for my lover. I can't let hope, destroy me.
