Tyciol IIRC argued that even recognizing aesthetic preferences was a form of judgmentalism.

As I recall, he had no rebuttal for my reply that by his standards even Ernest Borgnine needs love too, and he should do his part by manufacturing a desire for Borgnine.

Its one thing to tell girls that there's so much more than beauty. Its another to presume that their preference for it must stem from "grooming" and should be suppressed.

And yes, strangely enough one of the strongest factors in beauty cross-culturally is symmetry; which is an indicator of good health prenatally and afterwards.
