Been saying for years that innocence is a social construct and NOT a state of being. This is one of the reasons why children are confined to such strict standards like no questioning adults and no touchy-touchy on the playground, and why we are where we are now.

But don't worry. The way I see things going, adults will get real sick n tired of living up to these imposed standards, and that's when children will step up to share the responsibilities and finally be regarded as people, not as "innocents."
