Herein lies the problem: no one EVER does anything for no reason. There is always a reason. It may be twisted and delusional as all get-out, but there is a reason it happens.

I would argue that there is such "chemically pure" evil, and that it is manifest in some of the most egregious known criminals - like, typically, the serial killers, serial rapists, serial torturers.

Yet that is extremely rare (as should be) - so rare that in the end you are right; you cannot educate based on the exception. The rule is that evil is much more mundane than that.
