There was another similar thread a couple of months ago. I posted an unpopular view that I believe very strongly in Parents' rights. Unless what they are doing is truly harmful to the child, I will support their rules and regulations for that child. NO ONE - not me, not you, not the parents, not the pastor, not 0bama, - NO ONE can raise a child perfectly. We are all flawed and will make mistakes. So... if I believe (hypothetically) that homosexuality is okay, and I am talking to the child of Christian parents who teach that it is wrong, I will not undermine their authority and their teaching. I WILL be honest with the child if the child asks me questions, but I would likely also make the parents aware of those questions.

I would (and DO) do the same for Atheist parents. A relative of mine is an Atheist, and I am a Christian. If the child asks me about God, I will tell them what I believe, but I will by no means tell them "You're parents are wrong!" I'll give them some information, hopefully ENOUGH information, for them to be able to make age-appropriate decisions on their own.

So... no, I would not enjoy foisting my beliefs on the parents, just as I would not want their views foisted on me.
