I wasn't saying that pedophilia is a mental illness. I clearly said I wasn't talking about that case:
And indeed there is a lot there to question, and a lot of cases they can be challenged, especially the ones having to do with socially undesirable conditions.

I do not believe it is a mental illness and don't think there is any good evidence that it is. The inherent limitations it imposes on life and especially the societal hatred and the need for secrecy all mean that a pedophile could often benefit from psychotherapy to deal with the orientation as it influences a person's life, but not to try to change it.

I was reacting to the idea that psychiatry as a whole was just a hoax.
