That may be, and if women have displayed the same violent tendencies then they certainly need to scrutinized just as much as any man, because often there is a chain of violence in those families: man beats wife, wife beats kids, or more likely, man beats wife AND kids, wife also beats kids.

Which reminds me: recently a young woman I know (the daughter of some of my parents' friends) in this area beat her stepson to death. An autopsy of the boy revealed many bruises, old and new. The killing blow was a concussion caused by the boy being slammed head-first into a dresser. Even when this woman was a teenager there was a coldness about her that always made me uncomfortable when she was around. Now I know why. She and her boyfriend, the boy's real father, were heavy meth users as well.
