Hieronymus has it right. I might also comment that being scared is kinda normal when approaching someone with a request for something... and the courage you're looking for isn't an absence of fear, but doing what you want/need to do anyway, while still being scared.

You might look weird... and? Maybe have an excuse ready if things get awkward... maybe just wing it. You won't know until you ask -- and the answer can't be "yes" if the question is never posed!

But... it really isn't that easy, the first time or two. And it's less time that it takes, and more practice that it takes.
