...harsh criticism of, and even vile acts against, what you fear in yourself. Putin certainly has shown that by comparing homosexuals and pedophiles, by having new anti-homosexual laws put in place, and by enforcing such laws, by allowing violence against any of his citizens who are gay or lesbian.

But I would not celebrate Putin, or his achievements (which are debatable), in any way. The man, in my opinion, is despicable. He is a tyrant who is leading his country into ruin.
