Putin is a tyrant who is leading his nation to ruin? Really?

Putin is infinitely more democratic than his predecessor, who ordered tanks to fire on Russia's elected parliament in 1993, killing thousands of innocent people. When did Putin ever do anything remotely as evil and tyrannical as this?
