Have you actually read the rules? Because you have it ass backwards. This is a girl love forum, not a youth rights forum. It's called Girl Chat, not Youth Rights chat, for a reason. It was initially intended to be an all-inclusive board for GLers--everything else was extraneous. I have been here long enough to know that the initial incarnation was pretty diverse. That the majority have since become youth rights advocates does not change that fact. If they want to change it to a youth rights forum, then they are perfectly within their rights to do so, but that is NOT what it was supposed to be when it started. I never know when Freedomday is being serious or not, as by his own admittance he loves to "mess with" us. But what you said is very true, not what he said (whether he really thinks that or not).
On an all-purpose GL forum, a no-youth lib discussion rule is not going to happen, Markie. You and other anti-choicers need to accept that. There are other MAP boards with more limited purposes and discussion parameters you can go to for that (the VirPed board being one of them!). We used to get new members almost weekly. Many scattered after the PJ/AZU terrorist campaign, but the fact that VP does get new posters almost weekly I think says much about what this place has become. Yes, a place where discussion of all issues relevant to youth-libbers, and which does not insist that only the anti-choice view can be discussed. That's what it's always been, not what it has "become." The fact that more anti-choice MAPs may prefer to flock to a place where they can all sing to a choir that sings nothing but the same tune back to them is not our fault. The pro-choice viewpoint is real, and it's not going anywhere, and it will be discussed places where it's allowed to be discussed. This is such a place. Even the moderates like Sancho Panza have mostly fled. It is no longer a welcoming place to be for anyone who doesn't support the pro-contact agenda of the main group of posters here. Translation: The anti-choicers are not used to any place where they are not the majority; the pro-choice view isn't censored and censured; where the scientific reports supporting it cannot be unilaterally shouted down or the links deleted on sight; and where one can find open and unashamed support for their pro-choice view. At least here, though, they can actually cry about being a persecuted ideological minority! It doesn't make sense, but their view is mostly based on emotion and histrionics anyway. Poor Markie, that he continues to love this place and the support and forgiveness he's always received on it despite now having a MAP board to go to where the choir can't sing any tune he doesn't want to hear. It sucks to be him, it does! *gives him a brotherly hug* |
