We're not talking about sexuality here, right?

This is Girl Chat.

which model better explains your moral intuitions?

Black and White don't really exist. It's all grey, if you don't want to create your own colors. Yes, youth are an oppressed group and my "moral intuition" is to promote their liberty. Harm to themselves or society is a case by case problem just as you say.

Determining if the "child mind" can "handle" the freedom from oppression is your hangup, I presume. You have to be a god to know what is best for them in that case.

You can continue to bring them toy dolls, guns, and cars for Christmas in your Red Suit or you can give them the same information available to us all. If they go astray with that information due to the limitations of their "child mind", you can guide them as best you can. But not with pre-determined scripts.

And all that includes and is integrally inseparable from their sexuality.

You might be underestimating the ability of children to make mostly good decisions for themselves and others. I think most will do fine. Some will take some special attention. Some will even fail.

Kids are human beings too. They have the same molecular possibilities we do as adults. To prevent them from expressing and exploring those possibilities is oppression. What's "best" for them is not our choice. But don't forget that I would still try to stop the drunken rock climbing idea.
