Yeah, sure -- in the hands and minds of a very tiny minority of pathological people. Who will hate you regardless.
Everyone else just makes nonhostile pedo jokes and will happily chat with you about nonpolitical things.
A tiny minority of pathological people who hate you will hate you no matter what. Taking your advice from people who hate you is going to get you hurt.
So... why?
Parents naturally want to protect their children
"To protect" is the lowest possible impulse. If you'd said "to help," or "to support under their leadership," I'd believe you. "To protect," on the other hand, gets kids killed from full-body burns on the stove... "I was only trying to protect them, if they don't learn to obey they might endanger themselves."
It's a cheap excuse for specious bullshit - any specious bullshit - and a magic wand which makes the "atonement" (another primitive notion) for child abuse... more child abuse.
We should move people beyond neurotic pathology, not fucking embrace it.
You know, everyone has, well, grown up, and faced the reality of our climate.
Yes, "realism" is often the self-described banner of the fifth column.
I feel above all it is critical that we make a clear distinction between girllove... and adult-child sex. From what I’ve seen of Virtuous Paedophiles, that guilt-ridden den is not the answer.
{slow clap}
Yes, I'm sure that if I'd positioned myself as anti-VP on the basis of social conformity, I'm sure I'd be aligning to, well, whatever you have to say on the basis of that projection of "shared value."
Unfortunately, your out-of-the-box textbook isn't relevant a damn bit to what is in front of you.
There is a small, pathological minority. There is a silent but friendly majority. "Friendly" as in "supportive" or "friendly" as in "neighborly?" I don't know and honestly do not now care, nor is it terribly relevant.
Neither one is going to respect you worth a damn if you can't stand up to a bully, and if you argue for lesser rights on account of being a different status, you will end up with a whole lot less than that.
So you see, an excessively simplistic textbook is inapplicable to the pressures of the situation.
Don't get me wrong, you wrote a real chinese firecracker of a post - the rhetoric is stirring. It is still the case, however, that a different view is more valuable to the inpartisan masses than one which strives to blend in to a narrative crafted largely by people trying to hurt us.
Stand up to the bullies. Make friends. Accept nothing less than equal rights - they're not brave enough to redefine their own, though we've lost nothing if they do.
