You're right... the People are truly bad for not tolerating rampant poverty, homelessness, unemployment, the growth of low-paying service sector jobs and the incessant outsourcing of that while and not being content with being told how much worse it is elsewhere while those at the top live in opulence.
While to me none of those are the government's role; what part did you not understand? My assertion is that the people do tolerate everything. There are no less than ten vacant homes for every homeless person in the US alone! ...which apparently built themselves unaided. There is enough food produced in the US alone to feed everyone in the world! ...which apparently raised itself and took itself to the supermarket shelves. And war is a choice made by those in power to conquer and acquire more power for themselves! These things aren't "natural" to humankind! ...which must be why every culture and every social group has engaged in it. Um, they may be mere figureheads, but look at their bank accounts and you will see how much power they still have. That power being the type of power that matters the most, not a high seat in parliament. Considering that that wealth is technically the property of the political entity United Kingdom, that means that they are not allowed to make full use of it in the way most people are. They can't control it to sign for loans or investments, to sell it, to rent it out, to change assets into something else. Regardless: Private wealth of the Queen[edit] Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finances_of_the_British_royal_family The Queen is at 329 in the most current Sunday Times list http://features.thesundaytimes.co.uk/richlist/live/ No coincidence, I'm sure, that your US jingoism made a point to pick a group of ruling class despots that the US government happens to be having a pissing match with right now over all the usual rivalries. No, it has to do with the Kims being a royal family who actually have power. They have more power than even the Sauds. That's why I used them. (Also, the Sauds are rich, while the Kims aren't, and I was trying to cover that angle too). I've had it with listening to your jingoism I'm sorry, how did this conversation start again? Oh yes, by me praising a foreign country and you saying that was the worserest country ever. Then again, except for the US, who are the worserest of the worserest. For all of America's defects, your insistence that America is the worst place on the multiverse leaves you fewer able to criticize her defects, not more. And I've also had it with this tendency of you to do this. I am inclined to just start ignoring you on this board and in chat. I'll be sorry. But then don't be surprized when you don't know something about developments in my life. • ( http link ) Click me (Sunday Times) [Anonymouse] |
