They do have responsibilities. The People are just bad at demanding they be met.

You're right... the People are truly bad for not tolerating rampant poverty, homelessness, unemployment, the growth of low-paying service sector jobs and the incessant outsourcing of that while and not being content with being told how much worse it is elsewhere while those at the top live in opulence.

And you could have really chosen better examples of wrong things. All those three are natural states of humankind; and being away from them is what takes the active effort.

Natural states of humankind?? Are you serious??? There are no less than ten vacant homes for every homeless person in the US alone! There is enough food produced in the US alone to feed everyone in the world! These are choices by the few that control these resources not to provide for the people who need them! And war is a choice made by those in power to conquer and acquire more power for themselves! These things aren't "natural" to humankind! They were some of the best of many good examples I could have come up with!

Yes, yes, it isn't always, maybe not even generally, the people in power who solved them. But measuring them by that is like measuring them by the existence of gravity.

You are serious here?!

Look, we are not going to come to an agreement, and I am thanking the gods of that every single moment. It's taking all my effort not to call you a lot of things that I think you would deserve to be called. Do we continue just to keep pissing on each other? Because I'm pissed enough to do so, despite knowing what a bad idea it is. We are NOT going to convince each other of anything!

"Ask the royal family of England."

...who don't have power, and haven't for centuries.

Um, they may be mere figureheads, but look at their bank accounts and you will see how much power they still have. That power being the type of power that matters the most, not a high seat in parliament.

Perhaps you mean the royal family of North Korea?

No coincidence, I'm sure, that your US jingoism made a point to pick a group of ruling class despots that the US government happens to be having a pissing match with right now over all the usual rivalries. No wonder you need to vent and continue these similar pissing matches with me.

Okay, again, we are not going to agree, and I am becoming increasingly proud of myself for not doing so. I could care less that you likely feel the same. I've had it with listening to your jingoism and worship of anything powerful (as long as it's on the "right" side), so I suggest we stop having this "discussion," because it has now ceased to be a discussion and just turned into each of us wanting to ring the other's neck. And I've also had it with this tendency of you to do this. I am inclined to just start ignoring you on this board and in chat.
