Dear freedomday,
For this work, we used the terminology by APA, who indeed still sees pedo(hebe)philia as a disorder. It is practice to not use the disorder as a subject, so you would say e.g. "person with Autism" and not "Autist". This was also why we asked a question as to how people identify themselves, and is why we tried to avoid using language such as "person with..." throughout the survey, as we know how it makes it sounds. The fMRI study was indeed very fascinating! And perhaps we will at some point go to indeed saying "persons with heterosexuality" or to saying "pedophiles" :) Thank you for your comments, Frederica |
