Something about those who don't choose their path are dragged along through the briars or something wise like that, said somewhere in that vain.

But I know it is only repeated heartbreak with the addition of old age and treachery which overcomes those idealistic cannonball dives into the pool of requited love. Temperance follows, for the sake of one's own survival.
