That's an interesting bit of information. Thanks for it. I was intrigued to compare the "before pressure" and "after pressure" versions:

Before:
ASFAR supports the elimination of all age of consent laws. However, ASFAR also supports initiatives to clarify the legal definition of rape to distinguish between informed and uninformed consent, where uninformed consent must be established in a court of law and not on the arbitrary basis of age.

After:
Laws fixing a minimum age of sexual consent should be substantially reformed to protect the mutually consensual behaviour of young people. While recognising that circumstances make such reform currently impossible, ASFAR hopes to eventually replace age-based sexual consent laws with an individual-capacity standard.

I don't hear the second one as backing down -- to me it reads like defiance. Circumstances make all their suggested reforms currently impossible -- to me it reads like a refusal to back down.

Looking at the forums I saw 800 registered accounts with a total of 523 posts. The local chapters it recognized were Pennsylvania, Salt Lake, and Wisconsin.

It's interesting that the group has 42 points to its declaration of principles, of which one is about age of consent laws. That might give a rough feel for how important sex with adults is to kids -- one point in a sea of many others. And of course this is a tiny subset of kids who see fit to organize around youth rights at all.
