Everything you wrote is true of a child lover.

However, I define a pedophile merely as someone whose sexual attraction is predominantly towards children. I consider the word neutral - a pedophile may be good, bad, or in between.

Let us not presume that what is true for ourselves is true for every single individual who shares the same sexual attraction. If we were just messing about with each other like the gays do this might not make much difference, but we have to consider how our actions will affect children who may end up with someone who is attracted to children but does not love them, or with someone who means well but does not know what they are doing.

I do believe in openness and legal protections for intergenerational relationships. I also believe in taking whatever actions are necessary to protect children from unscrupulous persons, whether those persons be adults or minors, teleiophiles, pedophiles, or other.
