I can actually credit one of the founders of BC actually, who had a love for the automobile, and told me that whenever he needed parts, he had to get them from a small French island off the coast of Newfoundland. I guess there are two of them, but it's the only territory in North America that France has a foothold. I was a geography nerd as a child, but never knew this.
