There was a girl I knew when I was in my twenties. She was from 11-14. We spent hours together each week talking.

Eventually we developed a non-sexual relationship. BF/GF.

It didn't last long, because she realized outsides forces, like her parents, were not keen in the idea, and that it wasn't easy to keep these things a secret.

It has been over a decade now and I still think about here everyday, and we still see each other from time to time.

Last we left things when she was 14, was that we would both love each other forever.

And it doesn't seem to matter a bit that she is now an adult. We still get along very well. She has never indicated she is creeped out by me. We see each other as often as we can, considering she is in an advanced degree, and half-way across the country.

In this case, it certainly didn't matter that she grew older. I think the roots of the relationship already grew strong and deep when she was young.

She also did the dumping, and I think it hurt me a lot more than her.
