First, genocide is often thought of as just "killing a lot of people", but it has actually been defined in the U.N. Convention on Genocide as:

...any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

(a) Killing members of the group;
(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
(e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group

A race can be defined as any group of people with a shared trait or identity, and the pedophile race has definitely: (b) been caused serious mental harm through being taught self-hatred from childhood, and in some cases been physically attacked; (d) had measures imposed to prevent births within the group, by preventing participation in normal courting and romantic relationships which might lead to births, as well as being targets of a campaign to castrate members of the group; (e) had children forcibly transferred to other groups. These are actions which have been taken by the government itself, but if we include the activities of self-appointed "vigilantes" which often have the blessing of the community and sometimes the government itself, we also see (a) killing of members of the group; and (c) inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about the physical destruction of the group in part.

As such, there is currently a state of genocide in effect against pedophiles in most western nations.

In accordance with the ten stages of genocide as presented by Genocide Watch, pedophiles are currently at at least the eighth stage. The chief barrier to proceeding to the ninth stage is that our enemies have not been able to identify most of us.

Even many mainstream critics who hate pedophiles have noted that totalitarian policies have been gradually introduced into western societies under false claims of protecting children, especially from pedophiles. Thus, opposition to pedophilia is largely manufactured in order to justify totalitarianism.

Finally, if the neoteny hypothesis is correct then pedophilia is essential to civilization, as the neotenous traits which humans find appealing are linked to the reduction in aggression and plasticity of mind that are necessary to the cooperation and intelligence required to create a civilization, or indeed to any cooperative endeavour requiring more than Dunbar's number of participants (about 150 for humans).

Thus, to oppose pedophiles in the current climate is to support genocide, totalitarianism, and the oppression of children, and to oppose civilization and humanity.
