Why are all your analogies always so bad?



If Loving (and other interracial couples) hadn't come out, we would still have miscegenation laws.

If gay couples hadn't come out, we would still have sodomy laws. Places which do have sodomy laws today are sustained precisely by social (and sometimes legal) punishments against coming out.

If potheads hadn't come out, marijuana wouldn't be legal in some places and debated in many others.

If Roe hadn't come out, abortion would be illegal in the U.S. and many more jurisdictions around the world.

You want to keep us in the toybox because you know that if none of us come out, we will lose by default.

I did come out to Gunner's family (and to her personally). That was not easy. It had its costs. And yet, I would do it again. It was the right thing to do; the best decision. For all.
