given that you can't know in advance that some particular girl was really and truly interested and some man was angelic in intentions, self-control and perceptiveness.
Same happens with all sorts of human interactions, regardless of age and gender, or if sex was involved. You need to exceptionalize sex to sustain that adult-child sex is different. It would take a strong girl to refuse to testify or refuse adult pressure, but in fact she would not be incarcerated long for failing to do so No, she wouldn't. But the prosecution's shrinks would at least allege she is (that word...) deluded and dismiss the testimony. In my jurisdiction, a positive testimony would be dismissed automatically. You would think that the courts should be much more respectful of the alleged victim... Separations may not be defined as punishment, technically. But if the child truly wanted to be in the adult's life (leave aside the matter of sex) then it is a punishment. Even if kids don't need, per se, a Pedo's attention; they may need the attention of a specific guy who happened to be a Pedo and happened to cross the legal line. |
