Medical doctors that deal with the brain and possible dysfunctions of it are a great thing. People with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and points north, are usually helped by psychiatrists and medications.

Psychologists, on the other hand, have a nasty habit of hurting people without intentionally trying (sometimes, intentionally.)

Because of my extensive time allotted to psychologists while I was on my extended vacation, I understand them very well. I would never recommend anyone getting seriously involved with one. For those who don't know, they can and will hurt you legally. They are required to. Never, ever, never, under any circumstances, tell them something that can (and will) be used against you in a court of law. The best way to approach a psychologist is the same way you approach a law enforcement officer: remain silent.

If anyone needs counseling regarding sexual issues, knowledgeable people (like us here) are best. But, so too, in an open forum, that's kind of hard to do. Face to Face even has its risks unless you have known someone for a long time.

I have never been hit by depression. I just don't have that experience in my life. (I've been sad when my son died or someone in my family was in the hospital.) But I have never been depressed emotionally. However, with that said, I do know several people who have serious issues with it. One of my friends needs medication for it. So, I know it exists. I just have never felt it so I cannot say anything about it. I do think it is the purview of a medical doctor, not a psychologist who will try to get the depressed individual to just "think" his way out of it.

As for the word, "crazy", yes; I am crazy. Happily so. Schizophrenic? No. I pretended for years to be, but that was to manipulate the prison system while I was in it. For me, people rightfully can call me crazy because I'm the only one I know that enjoyed my time in prison. There's good aspects on both sides of the razor wire. More on this side, but well, you get my point.

Psychiatrists should be medical doctors focused on medical issues with the brain. Psychologists should be avoided. It's okay to be crazy if you're enjoying it.
