The one that claimed me as theirs tried to shorten that list and the one that was trying to take me from her... sort of filled it in.

It was also around this time that I discovered I had a LOT of younger, boy friends all throughout the city. Thought it was a pack from a while ago, friends of a neighbor's younger brother that I met once, but when I ran into them again, they were all mid to late teens. These were her friends. And she broke up with her boyfriend the minute she got permission from her mom to move me in.

...then there was the three year old who all but introduced herself to me by regaling me with tales of the dude that used to fuck her when she was a baby. She SERIOUSLY adored him, so I kinda like the guy, and she likes her fingerbanging back-to-front and tip-to-tip, apparently. The dude who was doing her later, between the ages of one and two, well... I kinda wanted to tell her that he would have passed out when the heroin kicked in, so she didn't have to pay ass for neglect, but the fact that she doesn't hate them still means something, even if I'm not going so far as "impressed." Unlike her first, which she adored.

Basically, if you can't handle that they have lives, and that their lives are about them, not you, you shouldn't be there - whether as parent, friend, or lover. "All about me/not at all about me." That's the baasics here, and support the person you're interacting with in their own life or gtfo.

Because it's not about you.
