Quite a fascinating story! Your speculations on the manifold nature of time and alternate eventualities are very impressive.

I strongly agree with the idea that a select minority of individuals are far more experienced and emotionally mature to be counted upon to maintain loving and respectful sexual relationships with children than the average "joe"; and deserve to be recognized as such.

Unfortunately, that is where many in the child-lover community disagree.

There are those who dislike the application of any government-determined process (such as the one for granting drivers licenses) to determine preferential sexual access to children.

On the other hand, there are those who oppose any criteria whatsoever which discriminates one child-lover from another - as if all child-lovers, even the criminal and mentally-unbalanced ones, must be considered equally.

Then there's the "outcast" camp, who demand to be treated as equal players regarding child access despite any socially-disapproved or anti-social attributes that they may possess. Much like "ugly" girls protesting the advantages enjoyed by "attractive" girls. [Good lord. make the best of what you're dealt; and stop moaning!]

I hate it when the same folks who vehemently oppose compensatory advantages for racial minorities outright demand such consideration as members of a sexual minority (or a sub-group thereof).

It is these same sorts of conflicts which ravage the homeless community, and prevent any progress forward in resolving that critical and growing issue.
