Permission or accolade?

My philosophy would have me strongly agree with that sentiment. I object to licenses for anything. That's basically a government permission to do something. Control. Over me. That I don't accept.

However...

Certification is nothing more than an entity claiming that the individual being certified is good at what they are certified to do. No control. Just rendering an opinion. A testimony. A thumbs up for what you do.

So, I don't mind being certified as a pedophile. In fact, I would welcome it. I would vehemently object, however, to the need to be licensed as one.
