From what I remember reading about other cases, they knew the defendants knew their passwords (as per the circumstances.) The plausibility of NOT knowing the password is credible. For example, if I have a password 128 digits long written on a piece of paper, I hear that dreaded knock on my door, and I flash burn my paper, nobody, not even me, can reveal the password. (Permanent contempt of court imprisonment? I think not.)
