"child exploitation," "child sexual abuse"

Anyone else hate these language games played by antipeds? The term "exploitation" is defined as the "utilization of another person or group for selfish purposes." Additionally, "abuse" is variously defined as "to use improperly or excessively," "to hurt or injure by maltreatment," and "to force sexual activity on." There is no justification for the idea that when it comes to sex, selfishness, maltreatment, and force are a function of participants' ages. In other words, the notion that adult/child sexual interactions are more forceful and driven by selfishness than such interactions between adults is baseless. The usage of these terms to describe the former is therefore disingenuous.

Experts have warned explicit anime and manga can be used by paedophiles as tools to groom children and act as a gateway to the abuse of real children.

Another line of thinking is that these materials give pedophiles an outlet to satisfy their urges so they'll feel less of a need to interact sexually with real children. Not that these people really care to investigate the relative merits of each position. Their true aim here seems to be to avoid as much discussion of the issue as possible, so as to impede the potential critical deconstruction of the pedophilia stigma. It's clear that, to them, the preservation of the stigma, at all costs, rather than children's wellbeing is paramount. They're such hypocrites.

The term "grooming" to describe the adult sexual coaxing of children is another language game. Given that all courtship behavior involves negotiation, coaxing, or grooming of some sort, it doesn't make any logical sense to reserve this term exclusively for adult/child sexual interactions. This practice merely serves to create the illusion that these interactions are intrinsically distinct from sexual interactions between similarly-aged individuals, which itself provides some justification for the stigma. It fuels the stereotype that adults who interact sexually with children are necessarily predatory and precludes the possibility in people's minds that, in some cases, children may initiate or otherwise enthusiastically welcome sexual advances from adults.

He said the worst series was Eromanga Sensei, which is about a 12-year-old girl who draws pornographic manga while her 15-year-old brother writes the stories.

If the individuals depicted in this manga are both underage, where is the "exploitation" and "abuse?" I thought that, according to these people, sexual interactions are only necessarily abusive when both adults and children are involved? Do they now hold that all sexual activity involving minors is "exploitative?" What's next? Will child/teenage masturbation soon be considered a form of "self-abuse?"

"The series also heavily features incest themes and many scenes are so disturbing I just won't, I just can't, describe them," Senator Griff said.

Oh jeez, now he has a problem with incest, too? Is incest erotica also banned in Australia? These utter prudes are patently ridiculous! Why are they in power??

I get the sense that this is feigned moral disgust on the Senator's part. Most men, I'm pretty sure, find this kind of material sexually stimulating. These disingenuous, hypocritical, lying sacks of crap need to be deposed. People like this have no business making decisions that have a drastic impact on millions of lives.
