(I mean, since roundabout '96)?
I didn't think so. Me either.
Once we had petite little powerhouses like Shannon Miller and Kim something or other, just totally destroying the competition in their youthful prime for that sport. Oh, the days of a Bella are long gone, thanks to feminists who hate their youthful competitors.
Now we have residual thunder-thighed elderlies who we can't help but remember got fingered (granted, through no fault of their own) by their nerdy little doctor, under the guise of medicine. Medicine does seem to provide cover for a bastion of unethical things these days, doesn't it...
Am I bitter? To an extent, definitely. Ageism destroyed a venue for young girls to demonstrate their superior prowess over other females older than themselves, and athletic ability, just as with looks or weight, could not be allowed to flourish naturally. It had to be commandeered under the guise of abuse and (ironically) female fragility.
Given enough time, they will eventually destroy everything true and truly feminine, as is still being witnessed with the total war on natural femininity.
Thanks to that little Shannon girl. I didn't realize at the time that the cards would be stacked against young girls in the future just because older women couldn't compete.
A big smelly fishy finger to those bigots who got ageist goals into the Olympics...
