What if the company has nothing to provide them?

I would recommend ExpressVPN for this specific reason - not only do they claim to not keep logs, but there was a case where they were served with a subpoena (or whatever - I'm not a lawyer), they replied, saying, we don't keep logs, so have no candy for you. The case is public domain so you can look it up and read all about it.

There were other cases where VPN companies claimed to not keep logs, they were subpoenaed, it turned out they DID keep logs, dude got arrested.
