It's just one thing in a long chain of things, but the media is clearly playing the public's emotions to persuade us to do things none of us really want to do.

Very similar to how the media got the public to hate _us_ fifty years ago.

Naturally I wish the best for the people of Iran, though I can't say for sure what that would look like - but I don't think government or media are going to give us much of a chance for input on this question.
