Who defines the meaning of a word...

According to my dictionary "paedophile" is the word used for someone who is attracted to minors. And that is what I am, attracted to minors. Psychologists are a group of people, just like we are. If we as a group choose to see it as an orientation instead of a disease...then that's what it will mean to us.

GL'er, MAA and YAA are all "insider" words. If I would tell a man at a bar I am a "girllover", he would probably laugh and say "aren't we all!"...because he doesn't know what the word actually means to me. If I would tell him I am a paedophile he would probably try to kill me.

I want people to know what a paedophile actually is, and when they do it's a step closer to acceptance. To be accepted you have to show how much you are just like other people, NOT move yourself completely into special private "clubs" with your own "code words". Making up other words just to make ourselves feel less dirty, is in my opinion a bit weak (nothing personal!! :) ).

Therefore I will always prefer the term paedophile...sorry :)
(though I must admit it's easier to find all the pro paedophile websites using these "new" words :p)
