I didn't mean it that hard! I just shared MY experiences with this, it wasn't a direct reply to what you said (like the software stuff I talked about). Don't see it as a flame...

I'd like to know:
Do you work in the game industry? If so, is it a well known company?
Or do you know people who work there, and did they tell you these things?

I have spoken to some people who work their personally (= not on internet)...and they all didn't go to a "game school". Some of them did take specific courses, like drawing or art history, to help improve their weak points...but nothing directly related to game design.

I do know their are some very expensive schools with a higher chance of getting a job. But lot's of money is something I don't have, like most people. Therefore my only chance is: learning the software myself, build up a portfolio and take specific courses if I need them.

Again: I'm sorry if you feel offended...I really didn't mean it that way :)
