To begin with, your unstated belief that the gaming industry is one monolithic uniformity is actually quite wide of the truth; the actual game development is done more frequently by relatively small groups of entrepeneurial types, sometimes under license and sometimes not.

Next, the 'school" of which Computer Gaming World wrote is not a school in the ordinary sense of the word; more like an apprenticeship under the guidance of people with track records of success in the field. And their graduates DO
find work in gaming.

It is correct to assume that a normal school may have nothing to offer; it was not correct to assume that the training to which I pointed you was an ordinary school.
