In my case with my teacher, I didn't know why she said that either. Mothers are like that anyway, somehow impossible to understand. If you live with your parents you sure know what I mean (I do, too, but if all goes according to the script, I leave in about 15 months)... I would say, if you have a good pretext, or even a relatively lame one, call them and go visit them... you lose nothing and I have always thought that keeping contact with the LGs in your life (whether you think of them as just friends or as LGFs) is the only thing that keeps us from literally losing our minds...

And the word we use (I don't know who invented it but it still makes me laugh) is "toybox"...
