I’m one of those that hates reading about GM’s.

I dislike GM’s because I feel they are short lived and they never have the opportunity to grow into a relationship. I also feel that the moments only reflect in the viewers mind.

For many of us here, particularly those who don't have LGFs or otherwise cultivate romantic relationships with minors; the GM is simply a record of an endearing moment. I treasure mine particularly because I know I won't allow them to grow into a relationship. And yes, in my case, I prefer that the GM exist primarily in my mind for the reasons you cited. If I'm not ready to pursue anything more than "proper" relations with the girls I get crushes on, then its best they not know.

If you've been lurking for a while, then you'll know that I also have a mad crush on my step-daughter Ellen. I hope that I can continue to be supportive of her as a parent and a friend. I doubt I could be there for her with THIS kind of love, if I'd allowed the relationship to be buffeted by the tidal fluctuations of Romantic love.

I would like to know, when do you as a child lover let go of a princess? How do you know when it’s over? Can it really be, she turned 12- and now you no longer love her?

As I'm not exclusively a GLer, the truth is that I never let go. And as I see them leave my AoA for youthful beauty and enter into adulthood with its shared emotional experiences oftentimes the bonds of affection deepen as they have with Beatrice; even though she has chosen another to love.

Oh and by the way, welcome to GC.
