Yeah. There's that voice again.

You know, this is all well and good if, exactly as LostKari and JD assert, you have no designs other than being a good friend. Hell, in those cases it's really good advice.

But this is my thought on the matter. If all you are seeking in children is being a "good friend", why are you here? What's the harm? You're not doing anything wrong, and likely never will.

Psycologists might beg to differ, parents might beg to differ... an adult "just friends" relationship has long been held in the family yet touted as "evil" among outside sources. (I should explain that better... if you're the uncle or the family friend before the child is born then more power to you... if you're a stranger the child met by chance then get the hell away you pervert... that's the thinking.)

I think we can all agree though, that thinking is pretty much BS, unless the person involved does have that old hidden agenda.

Maybe it's not hidden, but unrealized. Or maybe it's just that little kick that puts someone into the "situational offender" category.

Anyway, I'm dancing around in circles. Yeah, good idea, as long as you're not a problem. If you ever are a problem, or have the potential to become a problem, perhaps you should read these posts from the perspective of "worried parent". Or even, "worried I can't control myself". Maybe then you'll understand where some of these "lock me in the closet and throw away the key" posters are coming from.

Just my two cents on the matter. It looks to me like things are getting close to name calling and the like, sure it probably has happened before, but that's the nature of debate right?
