I beg to differ.
I've seen the "I'magoodpedIdon'ttouchkidsIdon'tactoutI_am_your_bitch" argument used in the face of a troll attack.
Know what?
The answer to "I'm your bitch!" was usually "You're my bitch" - and it wasn't pretty.
As long as you are, you will get knocked by the antis. Standing up versus bending over had little to do with the observed response.
...with one exception, anyways - ask Silver_Wolfe what a frothing, militant, "faeries wear boots" type person with a little education can do for reasoned conversation. ;)
Suffice to say - no, the antis don't hate us for our values. They hate us because... we're there. We exist.
This has been shown time and time again. Rick Roberts actually made fun of one guy for using their lack of sexual activity as a defense, for instance...
...the only success is the brutal offensive - but mostly, they'll just hate you no matter what you do or believe.
Lux was slammed much harder than anyone in the current controversy. And he stuck mostly to the ethics and politics end of the debate.
Heh. Politics he had in spades, ethics his argument did not - and he wasn't lying in the slightest when he deliberately referenced his argument as "soundproof," rather than "foolproof."
...personally, I lost a lot of human respect for the man when he cornered a handful of youth and tried to brainwash them into the notion that they were "misremembering" their life until their accounts fit his arguments, but hey...
Is there any groupthink going on here? Perhaps. GC initially seemed rather militant to me in its stance.
GODS, I wish. The non-ped str8 allies are usually militant, the posse 'round here is mostly a bunch of apathetic sheep who have brought to some minimum by a rare few individual.
Emo's whiny little 'submissive piddling' to rez is a good example. There's a reason rez 'n I occasionally seem to get along. We're two people bright enough to each know what side we're on of the moment.
...and are always swift to frame the debate so that any dissent makes you a non-choice anti.
You're obviously thinking of Diss; I usually prefer the direct comparison to the third germanic empire under national socialism, to which a direct chain of command can be traced under more than one route.
But your problem seems to be - until you propose charging heterosexuality under the same statute - such framing is correct.
...and I have no qualms if that's what you choose to do... tribal equality and what that equality is are seperable questions.
...but make sure you do it. In full.
