But in defence of STC I think they realise that while they may have lost a donation of $1000 they would lose a lot more in donations from other people if they accepted it due to a public backlash. People would boycott a charity seen to accept money from pedophiles and STC would quickly suffer through such bad publicity, it would be the sort of thing the press would jump on very quickly.

I know, it sucks, we're trying to show the world we really care and all we get is being accused of trying to buy a clear conscience.
