Yes, girls are free to change their minds. However, I still think it is cruel and emotionally manipulative for someone to come on to someone that they are not truly interested in, just to get some "tension" going. That is a type of experimentation that, while common, is really nasty and hurtful to the "subjects" of that experimentation, who may actually think that the girl is interested. Personally, I've had one too many girls or women come on to me who weren't really interested. If I reciprocated, I was later told that I "creeped them out." And I DO NOT come on strong if I'm not totally CONVINCED that the woman in question is attracted...that's how FAR some girls or women will take these insincere 'experimental' flirtations of theirs.

I can tell you, as a man, that it HURTS and FEELS TERRIBLE when a girl or woman plays games or "tests the waters" with me when she doesn't really want my attention in the first place. Maybe if some women KNEW how it felt to be pursued in a false manner like that, they would be less tempted to defend girls who acted that way. It HURTS to have your emotions played with in that manner. Girls and women should CONSIDER these things before arguing that it's benign to play with someone's affections. It's NOT, because it hurts.

Again, I'm NOT saying that girls don't have the right to change their minds. But sometimes they DO give out mixed signals on purpose. To be honest, I would totally be freaked out by a girl who did with Sophia did...seek out my attention when ALL she actually wanted was the tension (as she described it). Suppose the laws allowed it and I did reciprocate. Is she later going to tell me that I ruined her life and "scarred" her because I did something she didn't truly want me to do when she gave me every indication that she did?

I could totally understand it if the guy started acting weird or creepy as he got increasingly drunk. I should point out, however, that I personally DO NOT drink.

I think it's appalling to defend these types of actions by girls. This is why men are so often perceived as "predatory"...we can never take a girl or woman's actions at face value, because they can often act one way but mean a completely different thing. And some people think this type of behavior is HARMLESS. Nothing that hurts another person emotionally is harmless.
