Catholicsm: Church Law and God's Law

Here is how it works with Catholicism. The church is the Word of God. Church law and God's law are one in the same. If the pope says its a sin then it is a sin.

Where does the pope get that right? "whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you lose on earth shall be loosed in heaven". Basically, Jesus gave the first pope divine power. Power which is passed on from him to future popes. Just like the pope, priests and bishops have divine power. Priests can forgive sins, turn wine into blood etc, bishops can give people divine power by turning them into priests. (This power is from God, being used by them. It is not actually there power. Kind of like leasing a car)

God knows that people need a single structure, something that they can fall back on. Without people following the single rule of God's hand (the pope), people turn into protestants. Different branches of Christianity change and allow sinful actions to be acceptable, such as christian groups that accept masturbation, premarital sex and/or homosexual interactions for example.

It becomes easy for those who have lower values to just break away from the church and divulge themselves into sinful pleasures without guilt. They are able to just simply join a new "church". They can do whatever they want without fear.

It indeed is true that church officials are not angels from heaven. They are men just like you and me. There are evil people in society just as there are corrupt men in the Church. But it is important to note that Church values, what we as Catholics live by, is safe from the corruption. There will never be a pope that will tell us that we can have affairs or that we must kill our neighbor to be saved.

Popes of the past with all the crusades... You must see them as more than just popes and the head of the church. You must see them as kings and as military dictators. They indeed started war just as hitler has, but the followers of Catholicism were not led astray into the hands of Satan.

Many critics of the church do not see the importance of having a single head. It is necessary and God knows it so he has done it.
