Catholics? What I'd like to know.

What I'd like to know is why the Catholic church thinks it has the right to innovate and change all these laws. One day it's 'burn the fags'. Then suddenly it's alright for gays to be priests? One day the church is silent on pedophilia. The next they forbid it. It's funny that they forbid pedophilia due to pressure from the material world, and from non-Christians, yet that is something they're supposed to be against giving into.

It must take a lot of faith to believe that some sleazy Pope is accurately speaking on behalf of God. Or Jesus. Or Mary. Or the Father. Or the Holy Spirit. Or whatever it is you guys worship (and yes, I know the "explanation").

I mean, the Popes/Church are something that used to cut off the heads of those who disagreed, and would lead brutally violent military expeditions. So violent, in fact, that Muslims and Jews had to team up together. Then there was all the killing/beheading/crucifying of 'heretics'/'deviants'/'witches'. I assume you don't think the church was speaking for God then. What makes you so sure they are now? I think God, if there is one, would be very upset at people changing, altering, manipulating, and voiding his laws and rules.

It's funny, because I've heard many Christians claim that the New Testament did not come to lay down laws and rules. So what's with all these laws and rules? And again, what makes you so sure the church has them right? And if they don't, why would God be mad at you for disobeying? Would God really expect you to follow the laws of mere men, especially when these idiots continuously change the law? I mean, we're not talking about obeying traffic lights, or even the age of consent... we're talking about obeying religious laws which are supposed to be from the divine; eternal in wisdom. Hmmmmmm.

Sounds like something's been lost in translation.
